How much does EOPYY cover for prescription glasses?
If you are insured under EOPYY, you are entitled to €100 for the purchase of prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses or contact lenses. The requirement is that you have not received this subsidy within the last 4 years.
What applies for children’s prescriptions?
Children up to 12 years old are entitled to shatterproof safety glasses every 2 years. From the age of 12 and above, they are entitled every 4 years.
How much does EOPYY cover for presbyopia glasses?
As with all eye conditions, you may purchase presbyopia or multifocal glasses if you are over 40 and have not received another pair within the last 4 years for this or any other condition. The reimbursement amount is €100 (lenses and frame).
What applies for keratoconus patients?
For keratoconus patients, special keratoconus lenses are reimbursed up to €70 each, with replacement every 6 months if needed.
How will EOPYY reimburse me?
Your reimbursement is deposited to your bank account after submitting the required documents you receive at the time of purchase.
What exactly must I do to receive the reimbursement?
The steps you must follow to receive reimbursement for prescription eyeglasses:
Eye examination
Visit an ophthalmologist of your choice contracted with EOPYY to obtain your prescription.
Approval
Schedule an appointment at your local EOPYY office for the approval of your prescription by the auditing physician.
Glasses construction
Visit our fully equipped and renovated store at Ermou 7 and choose your favorite pair of glasses with minimal waiting time for lens fitting.
Submission
Submit the required documents listed below to EOPYY either online at (link) or by visiting your local office by appointment.
Required documents
The following documents must be submitted electronically at eopyy.gov.gr:
Ophthalmologist prescription
The ophthalmologist’s prescription from EOPYY (no upload required, as it already exists in the EOPYY system).
Retail receipt
A retail receipt from the optical store clearly stating your full name and the prescription glasses with their lenses.
Store certificate

Copy of IBAN account
A copy of an IBAN account with the consumer as beneficiary, to be used for the reimbursement payment.
