Moschino is an Italian luxury fashion house, specialising in leather accessories, shoes, luggage and fragrances. It was founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino in Milan. The brand was originally created in 1983 by the late Franco Moschino. Moschino and his fashion label became famous for his innovative, colorful – sometimes eccentric – designs, for his love of fairies, for his criticisms of the fashion industry and for his social awareness campaigns in the early 1990s. The brand has been part of the Aeffe fashion group since 1999.
In 1929, John MacCready, a senior U.S. Air Force official, asked Bausch & Lomb to make a pair of sunglasses for the U.S. pilots to reduce the stimuli caused by the intense blue of the sky that distracted them. In 1936 the prototype was made, in 1938 the lenses were upgraded, and later the specific design was trademarked as "Ray-Ban Aviator". In 1952 Ray-Ban built the Wayfarer with the typical G-15 lenses being launched a year later. The brand is now owned by the Luxottica Group.
