New Arrivals - Persol - RayBan Junior

Persol is an Italian Optical brand specializing in luxury sunglasses and frames. The name comes from the Italian phrase “per il sole” which stands for “for the sun”. The company was created in 1917 by Giuseppe Ratti.
In 1929, John MacCready, a senior U.S. Air Force official, asked Bausch & Lomb to make a pair of sunglasses for the U.S. pilots to reduce the stimuli caused by the intense blue of the sky that distracted them. In 1936 the prototype was made, in 1938 the lenses were upgraded, and later the specific design was trademarked as "Ray-Ban Aviator". In 1952 Ray-Ban built the Wayfarer with the typical G-15 lenses being launched a year later. The brand is now owned by the Luxottica Group.
